Spaghetti with Basil Tomatoes and Onions

A simple pasta dish that can be prepared in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 400g spaghetti

  • 2 large white onions
    Add to Shopping List
  • 4-5 large tomatoes (including yellow tomatoes, if you wish)

  • 1 tbsp Gourmet Garden Garlic
    Add to Shopping List
  • 2 tbsp Gourmet Garden Basil
    Add to Shopping List
  • Olive oil
    Add to Shopping List
  • Freshly ground pepper
    Add to Shopping List
  • 1 tsp Gourmet Garden Chilli
    Add to Shopping List
Procedure SERVES 4

Step 1
Peel and halve the onions and slice crosswise. Wash the tomatoes, drop into boiling water for a few seconds, then peel and cut into small pieces.
Step 2
Heat 3 tbsp oil in a frying pan and sweat the onions and Gourmet Garden Garlic gently over a medium heat, stirring frequently. When the onions are quite soft add the tomatoes and sweat for a further 2-3 minutes. Season with Gourmet Garden Basil & Chilli.
Step 3
Cook the spaghetti in plenty of salted water until al dente. Drain and immediately mix with the sauce.
Step 4
Serve steaming hot with freshly grated Parmesan. Enjoy
