Chocolate Ginger Bars

Chocolate Ginger Bars

12 oz chocolate, chopped (chocolate chips work)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup + 2 Tbsp butter, divided
1 lb brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp Ginger Stir-In Paste
2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
1/2 cup coconut, shredded

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt chocolate with condensed milk and 2 tablespoons of butter; set aside.


Melt remaining butter in a medium pan, remove from heat.  Add brown sugar; then eggs.  Mix well.


Stir in flour, salt, ginger, vanilla, nuts and coconut.


Spread ½ the dough in 15 x 10 inch parchment lined pan.  Drizzle the chocolate mixture over the dough.  Dot the top with the remaining dough.  Swirl slightly with the tip of a knife.  It should look uneven-rough.


Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown.
