FAQ

Use Gourmet Garden herbs and spices the same way you would use fresh herbs and spices, as much or as little to taste.

When following a recipe, replace the fresh herb or spice in a 1:1 ratio. If the recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of chopped basil, use 1 teaspoon of Gourmet Garden basil.
For dried herbs, use in a 3:1 ratio, for example, use 3 teaspoons of Gourmet Garden Ginger if a recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of ground ginger.

Generally spices are added at the beginning of the cooking process and herbs towards the end and we encourage you to add according to your own taste.

Just squeeze! Flavours are a very individual choice so go ahead and squeeze a little, taste recipe and then add more. Just like fresh herbs, add according to your own taste.

Absolutely. Gourmet Garden can be substituted in any recipe where fresh or dried herb or spice is called for in a recipe. Substitute using a 1:1 ratio for fresh herbs and spices. Substitute using a 3:1 ratio for dried herbs and spices (more Gourmet Garden paste).

Gourmet Garden flavours your cooking with the fresh taste of herbs and spices therefore there is no need to add salt to your meal.

A secret recipe using a balance of ingredients has been created to maintain the natural flavour and texture of the selected herb or spice. The herbs and spices are harvested at a time that maximizes their flavours. This crop is then washed, chopped and blended for you to discover the fresh chopped taste when you open the tube in your home.

Not if the storage and usage instructions are followed. If the product is exposed to excessive warmth and light then natural oxidation will take place and the fresh herb taste of the product will deteriorate. This is the same as for all fresh and refrigerated products. Keep Gourmet Garden in your fridge to maintain its flavour and colour.

4 degrees C / 40 degrees F or less, is suitable for storing Gourmet Garden, so normal household refrigerators are perfect.

Gourmet Garden products must be kept refrigerated and last for up to 90 days or until the end of the best before date. The best before date is located on the cap.
