Spaghetti and Meatballs with Tomato and Herb Sauce
Spaghetti and Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 400g mince beef

  • 1 stalk of celery, diced

  • ½ onion, diced

  • ½ carrot, grated

  • 1 tbsp Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs
    Add to Shopping List
  • 1 tsp Gourmet Garden Garlic
    Add to Shopping List
  • ½ cup bread crumbs, fresh

  • Salt and pepper

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 x 700ml bottle of tomato puree/Italian tomato sauce

  • ½ cup water

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tbsp Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs

  • 350g spaghetti
    Add to Shopping List
  • 80g grated cheese
    Add to Shopping List
Procedure SERVES 4

Step 1
Combine the mince with the celery, carrot and onion and squeeze together with your hands. Add in 1 tbsp Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs, Garlic, breadcrumbs and salt and pepper and squeeze again to combine all the ingredients. Roll into balls heat a frypan and fry until golden on all sides.

Step 2
For sauce, place the tomatoes, 1 tbsp Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs, water and salt and pepper into a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Add in the meatballs and cook for 10 minutes on a low heat.

Step 3
Cook the pasta as per instructions on the pack, drain and stir through some of the pasta sauce.

Step 4
Top each plate of sauce with a couple of meatballs and then with some grated cheese.
