We are delighted to announce the launch of our 2012 Guest Chef Program, where each month our profiled chef will provide delicious recipe ideas, tips and advice on cooking with herbs.
February Guest Chef - Chef Joanne Weir
Joanne Weir is a James Beard Award-winning cookbook author, cooking teacher, chef and host of the popular TV series “Joanne Weir’s Cooking Confidence” which airs nationally on PBS. Her accompanying video-centric App, Joanne Weir’s Cooking Appetizers is also available. Weir has written 17 cookbooks, including the companion cookbook to her “Cooking Class” series, Wine Country Cooking, and Tequila: A Guide to Types, Flights, Cocktails and Bites. A fourth-generation professional cook, Joanne spent five years cooking with Alice Waters at Chez Panisse in Berkeley after receiving her Master Chef Diploma in France with Madeleine Kamman. Her ultimate calling has been teaching, as she travels and teaches cooking classes and takes students on culinary journeys along the Mediterranean as well as throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, South America, and England. Joanne is opening a restaurant in Sausalito, California called Copita Spring 2012. She was recently named Culinary Editor at large of Fine Cooking magazine. Joanne lives in San Francisco where she teaches cooking in her studio kitchen.
January Guest Chef - Chef Mark Farmer
Mark Farmer was born in South Africa. He is a self-taught chef from Cape Town whose earliest memories of food are of the enjoyment of the delicious Sunday roasts that his father used to cook for the family.
Like most chefs, Mark has a love of good food. He is passionate about organic food, and besides the intensive health benefits of organic, Mark’s cooking is full of exquisite flavors, texture and colors. Mark is determined to lead the way in a return to wholesome foods and flavors. The passion that Mark puts into his cooking touches your soul; the food is imbibed with the same excitement that he feels every day of his life.
