Gourmet Garden Garlic & Chunky Garlic

History
Garlic is the universal spice which is used extensively around the world from China to the Americas, in French aioli, Turkish cacik, Vietnamese pho bo, Indian korma, Middle Eastern hummus and Greek skorthalia. Garlic is grown globally, but China is by far the largest producer of garlic, with approximately 10.5 million tonnes (23 billion pounds) annually, accounting for over 77% of world output.

Flavor
Garlic has a pungent, spicy flavor that mellows and sweetens considerably with cooking. While cooking softens the flavor, roasting gives garlic a well-balanced, delicate, nutty flavor.

Health Benefits
Although garlic may not always bring good luck, protect against evil or ward of vampires, it is guaranteed to clear up unwanted acne, assist with cardio vascular health, lower high cholesterol while also acting as a natural antibiotic to stimulate your immune system. So next time you’re cooking up a storm in the kitchen be sure to mix in some garlic to increase your daily dose of Vitamin C and help ward off evil diseases.

Cooking & Food Pairing
Garlic is and essential ingredient in French, Italian, Spanish and Middle Eastern cooking. Garlic is often used as a base for stir fries, curries, soups and sauces and is gently simmered before onions and other spices are added. Garlic works wonderfully when matched with onions, ginger, basil, tumeric, greens, beans, spinach, chicken pork and seafood. Additionally garlic has the ability to modify other flavors such as tomato, chillies, onions and ginger.
