  • 1 1/2 teaspoons (7 mililiters) vegetable oil
  • 1 pound (500 grams) ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup (125 mililiters) onion, chopped
  • 4 teaspoon (20 mililiters) Chili Pepper
  • 2 tablespoon (30 mililiters) Chives
  • 1/2 pound (225 grams) frozen shredded hash browns
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mililiters) shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 8 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup (250 mililiters) milk
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mililiters) salt

Preparation

  • 1 Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray an 8x8-inch (20x20-cm) baking dish with no stick cooking spray, set aside.
  • 2 Heat oil on medium heat in a large skillet. Add ground turkey, onions, 1 tablespoon (15 mL) chili pepper and 1 tablespoon (15 mL) chives, cook until crumbled, about 3 to 5 minutes. Drain any excess liquid.
  • 3 Combine turkey mixture, hash browns, 1 cup (250 mL) cheddar cheese, eggs, milk, 1 teaspoon (5 mL) Lightly Dried Chili Pepper, 1 tablespoon (15 mL) Lightly Dried Chives and salt in a large bowl. Pour mixture in the prepared baking dish.
  • 4 Cover with foil, bake 30 minutes. Uncover, top with remaining 1/2 cup (125 mL) cheese and bake an additional 20 minutes or until set. Allow to rest 10 minutes before serving.
