Seared Steak with Oozy Garlic and Herb Baked Brie

Seared Steak with Oozy Garlic and Herb Baked Brie

Serves 4
4 Rump steaks
125 grams brie
1 teaspoon Garlic Stir-In Paste
1/2 teaspoon Lightly Dried Basil
1/2 teaspoon Lightly Dried Parsley

Grease and then heat a frying pan with a brush or spray of vegetable oil.

Once really hot, season the steaks quickly with a little salt and pepper and then put them straight into the pan.  Do not move them for the first 2-4 minutes, until there is a brown colour on the first side.

Place the brie in an oven proof dish such as a wide soup bowl and the rub the garlic and lightly dried herbs into the skin and bake in a preheated oven of 180⁰C for about 8 minutes until just melting.

Turn and do the other side and leave for about 2 minutes before turning over for the last time. You will need to adjust your cooking time depending on how you want them done and on how thick the steak is cut.

Remove from the heat and allow to rest and serve with the oozy fragrant cheese.
