California Turkey Burger with Garlic and Chili Pepper

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • ¼ cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Gourmet Garden™ Lightly Dried Chili Pepper, Lightly Dried
  • 2 teaspoon Gourmet Garden Gourmet Garden™ Garlic Stir-In Paste, Stir-In Paste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 cup fresh arugula leaves
  • 4 whole hamburger rolls
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 1 large ripe avocado, sliced

  • Combine ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, salt, black pepper, Gourmet Garden Lightly Dried Chili Pepper and Gourmet Garden Garlic Stir-In Paste in large bowl. Form into 4 large patties and press an indentation into the center of each.

  • Add oil to a large nonstick skillet and heat on medium-high heat. Cook patties for 7 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F. Top each patty with cheese slice and cover with lid until cheese is melted.

  • Place arugula leaves on bottom bun, top with cooked burger, tomato slice and avocado slices. Serve immediately.
