Pasta Carbonara with Basil & Chili Pepper

  • 1 package fettuccine
  • 4 ounces bacon
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Garlic, Stir-In Paste
  • 2 teaspoon Gourmet Garden Chili Pepper, Stir-In Paste
  • 4 whole eggs, yolks only
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese, finely grated
  • 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Basil, Stir-In Paste
  • 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs, Stir-In Paste

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  • Place bacon in a large skillet, add Gourmet Garden Garlic Stir-In Paste and Gourmet Garden Chili Pepper Stir-In Paste and cook over a medium heat until golden and lightly browned.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks, cream, grated Parmesan cheese, Gourmet Garden Basil Stir-In Paste and Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs Stir-In Paste.

  • Add cooked pasta to skillet, toss through bacon then add egg mixture and stir quickly to combine and heat through.
