Spicy Turkey Sausage Chili with Cilantro

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 lb Italian turkey sausage, cut into chunks
  • 4 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Garlic, Stir-In Paste
  • 15 ounces canned low-sodium black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 14.5 ounces canned no salt added diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Chili Pepper, Lightly Dried
  • 3 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Cilantro, Lightly Dried
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • sliced green onions
  • sour cream

  • Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onions and red pepper to pan and cook, stirring, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add sausage and mushrooms to pan and cook until lightly browned, about 8 minutes.

  • Add Gourmet Garden Garlic Stir-In Paste, beans, tomatoes, Gourmet Garden Lightly Dried Chili Pepper, Gourmet Garden Lightly Dried Cilantro and cumin to pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until vegetables are tender about 20-25 minutes. Serve topped with sliced green onions and sour cream, if desired.
