Ginger Waffle with Apple Chicken Sausage

  • Step 1
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Gourmet Garden Ginger, Lightly Dried
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1½ cups buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 2 links chicken apple sausage, chopped
  • maple syrup, optional

  • 1 Preheat waffle iron. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and Gourmet Garden Lightly Dried Ginger in large bowl. Add buttermilk, eggs and butter. Stir just until combined. Stir in sausage.
  • 2 Pour about 1/2 cup batter onto center of hot waffle iron. Close lid. Cook 8 to 10 minutes or until no longer steaming and waffle is golden brown. Carefully remove waffle. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve with maple syrup, if desired.
