Ginger Waffle with Apple Chicken Sausage

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Gourmet Garden™ Ginger Stir-In Paste
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1½ cups buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 2 links chicken apple sausage, chopped
  • maple syrup, optional

  • 1 Preheat waffle iron. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and Gourmet Garden Ginger Paste in large bowl. Add buttermilk, eggs and butter. Stir just until combined. Stir in sausage.
  • 2 Pour about 1/2 cup batter onto center of hot waffle iron. Close lid. Cook 8 to 10 minutes or until no longer steaming and waffle is golden brown. Carefully remove waffle. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve with maple syrup, if desired.
