  • ½ cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Ginger, Stir-In Paste
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 lb asparagus
  • 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Garlic, Stir-In Paste
  • 2 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Lemongrass, Stir-In Paste
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon soy sauce, reduced sodium
  • ½ teaspoon Gourmet Garden Chili Pepper, Stir-In Paste

Preparation

  • Bring vinegar to a boil in a small saucepan; boil 8 minutes or until liquid is reduced by half. Remove from heat, and stir in Gourmet Garden Ginger Stir-In Paste and sugar; set aside.

  • Trim tough ends off asparagus. Bring water to a boil in a large skillet, add asparagus and cook 3 minutes. Remove from heat and plunge asparagus into ice water to stop the cooking process; drain. Arrange asparagus spears on a serving platter.

  • Stir together Gourmet Garden Garlic Stir-In Paste, Gourmet Garden Lemongrass Stir-In Paste, oil, soy sauce and Gourmet Garden Chili Pepper Stir-In Paste. Stir in reduced rice vinegar mixture. Drizzle over asparagus; cover and chill 30 minutes, or enjoy immediately.
